The Renaissance of East Brooklyn continues with the introduction of the Outdoor Event Series at Gateway Center Mall presented by ShopRite. Spearheaded by the East New York Restoration LDC in conjunction with Brooklyn-based marketing firm JIG Media and Gateway Center Mall, the East Brooklyn Community is invited to come out and enjoy unique Summer experiences. Events include, a weekly Outdoor Movie every Monday in August, The East Brooklyn Outdoor Jazz Festival ending off the summer on Saturday, August 29th, and starting off the school year healthy and motivated with the 2nd Annual East Brooklyn 5K, Saturday, September 19th.
Dedicated to each community of which their supermarkets are located, ShopRite is known for their unparalleled community service. The Gateway Center’s 90,000 square foot ShopRite located at 590 Gateway Drive has sponsored and catered numerous events in Brooklyn, including Brooklyn Day at Seaview Park in Canarsie, the 1st Annual East Brooklyn 5k, and various events presented by the Brooklyn Borough President’s office. ShopRite stores all across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland all collaborate on larger projects, such as raising $1 million last September for Hunger Action Month and donating 50,000 cans of food to food banks in all of their home states during their “Cans for Fans” Facebook Promotion.

Afterwards, the free celebration will include marching bands, Zumba, line dancing, rock climbing and much more.
