Brooklyn’s East New York neighborhood is reclaiming its spot on the cultural map with the return of First Tuesdays, a monthly live music series hosted at Fusion East Caribbean and Soul Food Restaurant in partnership with Brooklyn Buzz. The series kicks off Tuesday, June 3, and promises a night of soulful music, authentic cuisine, and real community energy—with no cover charge.

Fusion East, nestled near the Elton Street entrance of Gateway Mall, has long been a hidden gem in the borough’s dining and entertainment scene. Known for its mouthwatering blend of Caribbean and soul food—think jerk chicken, oxtail, mac & cheese, and collard greens—the restaurant is now doubling down on the vibe by turning the first Tuesday of every month into a celebration of music, food, and culture.

The evening will feature Saxy Ric’s Winning Combination Band, whose dynamic mix of jazz, funk, and R&B will set the tone for what promises to be a Brooklyn favorite. Music kicks off at 7 PM, but guests are encouraged to arrive early for Happy Hour (4–7 PM) and to grab one of the front tables for the best view.

“This isn’t just about bringing back live music,” said Brooklyn Buzz’s VP of Live Music, Cal Jones. “We’re excited to bring the community back together for live music in a space that celebrates culture, food, and real Brooklyn energy. First Tuesdays is about more than entertainment, it’s about reconnecting with our neighbors and supporting local businesses.”

The collaboration is part of a broader effort by Brooklyn Buzz to spotlight hyperlocal events that fuel creativity and build community. With no admission fee, it’s an open invitation for music lovers, foodies, and neighbors to gather, celebrate, and unwind.

So, mark your calendar and round up your crew—June 3rd is just the beginning. The Buzz is back, and Brooklyn’s grown folk finally have their night again. For more information contact Fusion East at (718) 975-5065.
